Colombia pipeline terrorism returns from hiatus

Colombia pipeline terrorism completely disappeared for the first three months of this year. In the last few weeks, there have been several attacks, though the terrorists will have to play catch-up if they want to return to the rate seen in 2009 and 2010, at 32 and 31 attacks. RCN says Caño Limon was hit for the second time this year on Sunday. PDVSA, in Venezuela, said the Catatumbo River had been polluted with 1,200 barrels of oil. Happy anniversary, Deepwater Horizon.

As I understand it, oilfields along that pipeline are prepared for frequent interruptions by bombings, so it would take a lot of attacks to affect oil output.
